Reform AU stands on six commitments that shape every policy we write.
Faith. We welcome Australians of every belief and of none. We hold that the moral tradition behind our laws and institutions is the best guarantee of liberty and tolerance for everyone.
Family. We respect the choices adults make, and we back the family of a mother, a father and their children as the strongest foundation a community can have. Extended family and friendship networks matter too. Nobody should be left without a place to belong.
Life. Human life deserves protection from its earliest stage until its natural end. Debate on these questions must be open, respectful and free from intimidation.
Freedom. Speech, conscience and worship are basic rights. Real freedom grows from duty, hard work, forgiveness and self-restraint, which let people govern themselves with only a light hand from the state.
Enterprise. A young family should be able to buy a home and live comfortably on one income if they choose to. Wages should be set with families in mind, and businesses of every size should be free to grow and hire.
Local Responsibility. Problems are best solved by the people closest to them: individuals, families, local groups and councils first, with government stepping in only where they cannot.
