Federal policy

Digital Rights and Online Freedom

  • Oppose making Australia’s existing voluntary Digital ID framework compulsory; seek parliamentary approval and a nationally authorised public vote before any compulsory national identification model.
  • Protect Australians from surveillance-state overreach, centralised identity tracking, and forced biometric verification.
  • Defend consumer data rights, internet access freedom, and freedom of speech online.
  • Protect Australian jurisdiction and security over sensitive national data and cloud services, and assess foreign ownership, access and procurement risks against enforceable standards.
  • Protect data sovereignty and ban foreign surveillance partnerships.
  • Develop any legislative or constitutional mechanism needed to make a public vote binding before compulsory national Digital ID is introduced, with transparent privacy and security assessments.
  • Strengthen transparency, privacy controls and security standards for Commonwealth biometric and digital identity infrastructure.
